SPARTANBURG, S.C. - JP Kuhlma, a senior guard on the Davidson men's basketball team, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for February 13, the league office announced today.

Kuhlman helped the Wildcats go 2-0 on the weekend with dominating wins over Western Carolina (73-59) and Appalachian State (87-52). The senior guard averaged 10.5 points, 7.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent and going 6-6 at the free throw line. Kuhlman put up 13 points and dished out seven assists against the Catamounts and dished out another seven assists against the Mountaineers. 

A religion major, Kuhlman holds a 3.804 GPA and was recently named to the Capital One Academic All-District team for the second consecutive season.

Other nominees included Appalachian State men's track's Stanley Broaden, The Citadel men's tennis' Elliott Sperr, Georgia Southern women's basketball's Meredyth Frye, and Chattanooga women's basketball's Kayla Christopher.
