SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon guard Sebastian Koch has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played Dec. 10-16, while Wofford’s Jaylen Allen earned the CRONS Freshman of the Week Award, the league office announced today (Dec. 17).

Elon senior Sebastian Koch led all scorers with a career-high 27 points as Elon fell at No. 21 Colorado, 80-63 Friday night.  Koch scored all his points from beyond the arc as he went 9-of-14 from 3-point range.  He added two rebounds, an assist and one steal in 30 minutes against the Buffaloes.  Koch’s 27 points were the highest scoring output for an Elon player since teammate Jack Isenbarger notched 34 points against The Citadel on Feb. 4, 2012.  The guard ranks second in the league with 3.2 made triples per game and is tied for 13^th in scoring with 13.1 points per contest.

CRONS Freshman of the Week: Jaylen Allen, Wofford, G, Johnson City, Tenn.
Wofford’s Jaylen Allen earned a start at Saint Louis and finished second on the team with nine points in the Terriers’ 66-52 loss to the Billikens on Saturday night.  Allen was 3-of-4 from 3-point range and added an assist, one rebound and two steals in 20 minutes of action.  The Johnson City, Tenn., native ranks second in the league in 3-point field-goal percentage, as he has knocked down 55 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.  Allen is averaging 11.3 points per game since moving into the starting lineup four games ago.
