SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Teghan Henderson, a cross country runner for Chattanooga, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 6, the league office announced Wednesday.
Henderson, a sophomore from Pickering, Ontario, holds a 3.8065 GPA and is undecided on a major. She has been recognized as the SoCon Runner of the Week twice in 2013 and was named Runner of the Month for September.
Henderson also took home the SoCon Women’s Runner of the Year award after finishing first at the SoCon Cross Country Championships on Saturday. She completed the 5K course in 17:05.84, finishing nearly 30 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Henderson bested her personal-best time by 1:14.25 and led the Mocs to a fifth-place team finish. She won all four races she entered this season.
Also nominated were Appalachian State volleyball player Meghan Mahoney and Citadel soccer player Sadath Jean-Pierre.
