Appalachian State finishes sixth at Winthrop Intercollegiate first round

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Appalachian State finished its fall season with the final round of play at the Winthrop Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon. The Mountaineers carded a second-round 335 after a first-round score of 330 to finish sixth at 665. Boise State won the tournament with a two-day total of 625, which topped host Winthrop by just two strokes.

Emily Stinson led the Mountaineers over the course of both days with a total of 161 to finish 17-over par and tied for 11th. Hannah Craver finished in a tie for 17th with a 163 for both rounds to end with a 19-over par. In a tie for 26th was Haley Zagoria, who finished with a 167 and was 23-over par. Madalyn Davis was tied for 38th overall and shot a 174 to finish 30-over par. Lily Yatawara finished in a tie for 38th with a two-round total of 179, which was good for 35-over par.

Appalachian is finished with its fall season with the conclusion of the Winthrop Intercollegiate and will open its championship season in the spring.
