Appalachian State Sits Fifth at Winthrop Intercollegiate

Appalachian State fifth after Winthrop Intercollegiate first round

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Appalachian State sits tied for fifth after Saturday’s first round of play at the Winthrop Intercollegiate.

The Mountaineers carded a team score of 330, which puts them seven strokes behind fourth-place Bethune-Cookman and 14 strokes behind a second-place tie between Eastern Kentucky and Winthrop. App is 24 strokes behind first-place Boise State.

Hannah Craver led the Mountaineers with a first-round score of 78 and is currently tied for sixth place individually. Haley Zagoria is not far behind after shooting an 82 on day one and currently sits in a tie for 19th. Tied for 31st is Madalyn Davis, who shot a first round 85 on Saturday. Tied with Davis for Appalachian State is Emily Stinson, who also shot an 85 and is also tied for 31st. In a tie for 38th is Lily Yatawara, who shot an 88 for the first round.

Round two will be played on Sunday.
