Bosley, Archer Earn CoSIDA Academic Honors

Wofford’s Bosley Named to CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford senior defender Maggie Bosley has been named to the 2013 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District IV First Team for her accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.

This is Bosley’s second career CoSIDA honor, as she also was named to the 2012-13 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team as a junior.

A senior from Aiken, S.C., Bosley has started in all 12 games she has played in this season for the Terriers and has been a huge part of a defense that has earned nine shutouts this season.  She currently has one goal and a team-high five assists for a total of seven points.

As a double major in chemistry and biology, Bosley has excelled in the classroom, posting an overall grade point average of 3.89.

Bosley was selected to the 2012 Southern Conference Fall All-Academic Team. She is also a three-time member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

The Capital One Academic All-District team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). These teams are selected to recognize the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Wofford is in District IV, which includes schools in Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Nominees must have at least a 3.30 grade point average.

The Wofford women’s soccer team is back in action on Sunday when it travels to Greensboro, N.C., to take on UNCG in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament at 2 p.m.

 

Georgia Southern’s Archer Named to CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern women’s soccer senior Emily Archer has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District IV Team as announced on Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Archer is Georgia Southern’s first women’s soccer selection to the academic all-district team since 1998, when Lindsey Grossman earned the honor.

Academically, Archer has a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She is majoring in marketing with a minor in public relations.

Archer concluded her collegiate career on Wednesday night and played every match this season for the Eagles. She played a total of 58 career matches and scored her only Division I goal as a sophomore against Davidson.

A native of Cornelius, N.C., Archer played her freshman year at Belmont-Abbey, scoring seven goals with four assists.
