SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Michaela Reesor, an outside hitter on the Samford volleyball team, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 23, the league office announced Wednesday.
Reesor is a junior Journalism major with a focus in Public Relations. The Caledon, Ontario, Canada native currently holds a 3.88 GPA
She led the Bulldogs with 30 total kills in two matches last week, notching 15 kills in each match. Her .375 attack percentage against UNCG and .294 mark against Elon were her two best performance in conference play this season. She also became the 11th player in Samford history to surpass 1,000 career kills.
Also nominated for student-athlete of the week were Appalachian State cross country runner Justine Stocks, Citadel women’s golfer Kellie Anderson, Furman cross country runner Sinead Haughey, Chattanooga cross country runner Lucas Cotter and Western Carolina football player Darius Ramsey.
