SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel’s Danielle McKee has been honored as the Southern Conference women’s cross country runner of the week for her performance during the weekend of Oct. 11-13, the league office announced Wednesday.
McKee earns her second runner of the week award following a 20th-place finish out of 200 runners at the Disney Cross Country Classic on Saturday. The senior clocked a season-best time of 18:47 in the 5k race to lead the Bulldogs to an eighth-place finish out of 24 teams.
She is the first Citadel runner to win the runner of the week award twice in the same season.
The Citadel returns to action Oct. 18 at the Blue Ridge Open in Boone, N.C.
