SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson's Jake Cohen has been named the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for all games played January 2-7. Cohen averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds as Davidson fell to top-ranked Duke (67-50) before beating UNCG (85-53) last week. It is the second time this season Cohen has been named the league's Player of the Week.
The Berwyn, Pa., native scored a game-high 19 points against the Blue Devils and pulled down eight rebounds. He became Davidson's all-time leader in blocked shots (160) last week and is closing in on joining the SoCon's top-10 list for career blocks.
The senior scored a game-high 20 points and added eight rebounds Saturday against UNCG. Cohen shot 60 percent from the field (12-of-20), connected on 4-of-7 attempts from 3-point range and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line last week
Cohen ranks 14th in the league in scoring (13.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg). He is second in the SoCon in blocked shots (1.5 bpg).
The Wildcats (8-6, 3-0 SoCon) return to action Saturday afternoon when they visit Furman (3-10, 0-2 SoCon).

Horgan, Elon's Jack Isenbarger, Furman's Colin Reddick, Georgia Southern's Eric Ferguson, Samford's Raijon Kelly, Chattanooga's Farad Cobb, Western Carolina's Trey Sumler and Wofford's Lee Skinner.
