SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Nate Healy, a senior men's basketball player at Appalachian State, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for January 16, the league office announced today.
Healy matched a career-high with 24 points in the Mountaineers' win over UNCG and grabbed nine rebounds in the contest. He scored 22 points and grabbed eight boards in the win over Elon and tallied 10 points and five rebounds against Wofford. The senior also added three blocks against UNCG and four steals against Elon.
The management major currently holds a 3.98 GPA.
Other nominees included The Citadel men's basketball's Mike Groselle, Davidson wrestling's Eddie Isola, and Samford women's basketball's Taylor Reece.
