Georgia Southern Head Coach Rodney Hennon:

"I'm awfully proud of these kids. They showed a lot of fight all year. Our team has seen a lot of adversity, and they've hung in there. I think the way they played and the way they fought today exemplifies that. We had our chances. We tied it up. We had the winning run in scoring position. They made a play. Tip your hat to Zeth Stone. He had a big hit for them in a big situation. I want to congratulate Samford. They've got an outstanding team. Two very good baseball teams battled it out all day long."

Samford Head Coach Casey Dunn:

"We had a great start to the game. Josh was phenomenal. We got big hits against a really good pitcher. They made a push, we were waiting for it, and it came. Thankfully for us C.K. (Irby) was able to battle through a little bit of adversity and then Zeth Stone got a huge hit. We've taken a lot of big steps in the last few years, but we've never gone to the NCAA tournament. This is a special group of kids who took advantage of the shot we were given."

"It was fitting that Zeth Stone got the big hit. After the tough day he had defensively, you had to figure that if anything was right in the world, he'd be the one to deliver that hit. He came through at a big moment. I can't be prouder of him and the mental toughness he showed to come through and get that big hit."

Samford second baseman Zeth Stone:

"I had to pick the team up. I had to do it. I saw a pitch I could hit and I turned on it. I don't know what to say other than Josh Martin and Brad Moss are awesome. I'm humbled and I'm happy. This definitely wasn't one of my best games, but I'm pleased with the outcome."

"It's huge to play another week, especially for the seniors. It's the first time Samford has ever been to the tournament. It's good for our team. It makes a big statement about the program and where we are going. I'm just glad to be a part of it."
