"Congratulations to Georgia Southern. I give a lot of credit to the effort they put in. They played extremely well offensively. Rodney and his team played very well. I'm extremely proud of our club. After going down 19-2 to the first game, we bounced back, we responded, and we played hard. We fought tooth and nail today in the seventh, after going down 8-1. We didn't quit. I'm excited for the future of this program."

Elon's Jake Luce:

"We have a young club. That bodes really well for our program."

"We're well-coached in the sense that coach preaches effort and attitude. We take that to heart especially when things are tough. I expected the battle in the seventh inning from our team."

"Sometimes you're going to get runners in, and sometimes you're not. You hope in that situation that your club will come through. We didn't get it done today, but that's baseball. They have a good team and I give credit to them."

Georgia Southern Head Coach Rodney Hennon:

"First of all, every time we get together with Elon, it's a battle. Their kids fought hard right to the very end and that says a lot about the character of their kids. I'm awfully proud of our team. Our kids did a good job of keeping their poise. They answered with two runs in the top of the eighth after giving up a six inning. It was a great team effort."

Georgia Southern's Will Middour:

"My arm has been tight lately, and this heat really loosened it up for me. It helped me keep command of my change up and fastball. I knew going into the game, that it was a big game. Winning saved us a lot of pitching by avoiding a game later tonight."

"We peaked at the right time. Our bats are picking up and our pitching is picking up. When we do fall down, we pick each other up, and that is huge for the team."

"It's great for momentum when the pitchers do well and get 1-2-3 innings. It pumps everyone up and makes us want to get the bats going."

Georgia Southern's Chase Griffin:

"We've struggled with our bats throughout the season. The hitters are finally finding themselves and finding their identity. Every hitter is taking their role and doing it well right now."

"It just sets the tone for the game when the pitchers go out and pitch well. It's contagious. When the pitchers do well, the hitters want to do well too."
