"Georgia Southern is a very hot ball club. They are pitching extremely well. They struck fourteen out. Leverett was electric the last three innings. We walked eight and hit two. When Davis hit the ball out of the park it was ball game over."

"You can't give anyone freebies, and we gave them ten. They're playing very good baseball."

"We're going to try to fight our way through tomorrow and make it to Saturday. In one day of baseball, anything can happen. Our goal is to get to the end of it."

The Citadel Mason Davis:

"We really couldn't get the bats going like we usually do. We just have to flush away thoughts from today and come out tomorrow and capitalize."

The Citadel Kevin Connell:

"The first two innings were very good. When the off speed stopped working, I had to throw fastballs and they started running away from me. I just need to go back and locate better. I can't leave pitches over the plate."

"We have our ups and downs and we're usually up. In the tournament anyone can beat anybody at any time. We just have to stay up, stay active, and move on."

Georgia Southern Head Coach Rodney Hennon:

"We had good pitching again and we played solid defense behind our pitchers. Offensively we did a good job of being patient at the plate. I thought it was important to add a few runs later in the ball game. We've been fortunate to have a couple of big innings in the first two games."

"You have to give it up to the defense today, especially in the first inning. They helped me out a lot today."

"I felt good today. We played The Citadel a few weeks back and we tried to work off what we did a few weeks ago. We used different sequences with different batters that worked in the previous outing."

"At the beginning of the year, my breaking ball wasn't as sharp as it has been in years past. The coaches started working with me through the middle of the season. The pitch has helped me a lot and made me a lot sharper."

Georgia Southern T.D. Davis:

"Before I went up to bat, Coach talked to me about being patient and waiting for a pitch I could hit, a fastball right over the plate. I had a good approach and I got some runs for Justin Hess."

"It's always good to know our pitchers are going to go out and put up zeros. It gives you more freedom when you go up to the plate to bat."
