College of Charleston Head Coach Monte Lee:

"We didn't throw the ball well. Defensively we made three errors in the first two innings and that led to six runs on routine plays. We didn't do a good job of playing defense early in the game. We gave them so extra runs and they took advantage of it. You have to give them credit for capitalizing on our mistakes. The first two innings killed us, and we just never could stop the bleeding."

"We made a really good comeback and we swung the bats well today. We had a shot at the end, but we couldn't pull it out."

College of Charleston Jimmy Holton:

"We battled and put ourselves in a position to win in the ninth, and that's all you can ask for coming down to the end."

"Anytime you lose a game like this it's not easy to deal with. But you move on and tomorrow is another day."

College of Charleston Marty Gantt:

"It's hard after playing a game like we played today. We struggled early but then we really battled. We battled to the end and we really had a shot to win. It's heartbreaking, but it's good to win a game when everyone is into it and the whole team is battling. It's just sometimes things just don't go your way."

Elon Head Coach Mike Kennedy:

"I think more than anything, the win speaks to the character of our team. After coming off a 19-2 loss, we came back against one of the best teams in the league, and the country, and won. I was very impressed that we never gave up and we never quit. They kept coming at us and we answered. I'm extremely proud of the way we bounced back."

 

Elon Ryan Kinsella:

"It was big to score in the first. We needed to wake up the bats and show support for the pitching staff."

"I had no doubt we were going to win that game. Nate Young has been in similar spots throughout the year and I had confidence that he would come through. He gets it done. I thought he would get out of it, and he did."

"When we score first, we're a great team. We win almost every time we score first."

"Knowing you have a good defense behind you, it gave me a lot of confidence. I just tried to keep the ball down. If the ball goes up the middle, I have a good defense behind me to get the out."
