Furman Head Coach Ron Smith:

"We gave up one earned run. That says it all. We didn't play the defense we needed to play to beat a team like Appalachian State. We're capable of playing better defense and fully expect to do so tomorrow. We hope to rectify tomorrow. We must play better to win, and we intend to."

Furman Will Owens:

"As a team, there's an easy way to win and there's a hard way. We want to do it the easy way, which is four games in a row. But tonight we didn't deserve to win. If we would have executed and played like we should have, we would have won that game. It's not over yet, now we have to do it the hard way."

"It's just frustrating because were capable of playing better than we did tonight."

Appalachian State Head Coach Chris Pollard:

"I thought Ryan Arrowood did a tremendous job of competing. You have to credit Furman's players at the plate, but Arrowood kept us in the game. Our outfield defense and situational hitting were very, very good. We pushed guys across the plate when they were in position to score. We did a good job being aggressive on the bases. The bottom line is that we did what we've done all year and we competed really well."

Appalachian State Will Callaway:

"It's pretty cool to play in my hometown at this ballpark. I've never played here before. It was fun to compete against some of my buddies from Furman, Will Owens and Will Miller."
