College of Charleston 4, Georgia Southern 3
BOONE, N.C. - Despite a late-game surge from Georgia Southern, the Cougars 4-3 victory forced the 2012 Southern Conference Softball Championship into a deciding winner-take-all sixteenth game. 

Freshman Mackenzie Maples got things started early for the Cougars as she blasted a two-run homer out to center in the top of the first. That was her second home run of the tournament. Sophomore Carly Corthell hit her first homer of the tournament to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth, junior Kristy Giragosian put the Cougars up 4-0 over the Eagles with her first home run of the tournament. Junior Tabby Douberley put Georgia Southern on the board in the bottom half of the inning with a home run to left field.

Senior Hanna Ennis put the Eagles within one, as she hit a two-run homer to center with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the Cougars came away with their second win of the day.

The winner-take-all game will begin at 3:50 p.m. at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.
