Greenville, S.C. - Former Furman soccer standout Fabien Vorbe has joined FC Edmonton of the North American Soccer League (NASL) for the 2012 season, it was announced by the club recently.
Vorbe, who finished the 2011 campaign with NASL side Four Lauderdale, scored 14 goals and added two assists in 49 career matches for the Paladins. In 2010, his final year at Furman, Vorbe netted four goals, including three match-winners, to garner first team All-Southern Conference honors.
The Port-au-Prince, Haiti, native also trained with Montreal this past season and played several matches for Tempete of the Haitian first division in the CONCACAF Champions League. Vorbe, slated to play as a defender for FC Edmonton, has appeared with Haiti's senior national team and represented his country in the U-17 World Cup prior to arriving at Furman.
