Owens, the Furman senior outfielder and leadoff man, fashioned a solid all-around week, recording two or more hits in each game as the Paladins were 4-0. Owens hit .579 (11-for-19) with three, three-hit games to go along with seven runs scored and six driven in. The table-setter from Greer, S.C., scored two or more runs in all three games of a weekend sweep of Toledo, which was selected to finish second in its division in the Mid-American Conference, while also notching at least one RBI in each contest.

West pitched a perfect game through six innings in his first career start for the Cougars as CofC picked up a 7-0 shutout at Jacksonville. The Glen Allen, Va., native struck out four against the Dolphins without allowing a single base runner. The Cougars' perfect game bid was broken up in the ninth inning. West also tossed a scoreless, hitless inning of relief in Sunday's second game of the doubleheader against Elon.
