Billings, Bulita Named Women's Athletes of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern’s Jasmine Billings and Samford’s Shelby Bulita have been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets over last weekend. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.

Billings set a personal record in the 100m hurdles at the FSU Relays. The junior won first place in the event with a time of 13.83. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native also finished 12th (12.12) in the 100m dash and 26th (25.50) in the 200m.

Bulita placed third in the javelin throw at the Alabama Relays with a mark of 41.58m (136’ 5”), which is a personal best. The sophomore also finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 42.21m (138’ 6”) and 12th in the hammer throw with a 44.56m (146’ 2”) mark.
