Keen, Haughey, Robinson Named Women's Athletes of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina sophomore Jocelyn Keen, Furman freshman Sinead Haughey and Appalachian State’s Shaquiela Robinson have been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets over last weekend. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.

Keen ran a personal best in the 800m at the 49er Classic with a time of 2:09.56 to take first place. The Fuquay Varina, N.C., native also recorded a personal best time of 57.79 in the 400 meter run and was the lead-off leg of the 4x400m relay, posting a 57-second split.

Haughey, who shares the Track Athlete of the Week title with Keen this week, won the 5K with a time of 16:58.38 at the 49er Classic. With her time, the Central, S.C., native broke an 11-year old school record.

Robinson, a native of Fairmont, N.C., won the Wake Forest Open high jump title over the weekend with a mark of 5’8”.
