SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Lucas Cotter has been named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today.
Cotter claimed the 3000m title at the Southern Conference Championship last weekend with a school-record time of 8:09.89. The junior followed up that performance with a second-place finish in the men’s 5000m run.
The Collierville, Tenn., native maintains a 3.833 GPA as an accounting major.
Other nominees included The Citadel’s Mike Groselle, Georgia Southern’s Meredyth Frye, and UNCG’s Toni MacReynolds.
