Hall Named Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Taylor Hall has been named the Southern Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played February 22-27, the league office announced today. 

Hall helped the Lady Mocs to a 2-1 finish to the regular season last week. The sophomore scored a career-high 24 points against Appalachian State and connected on eight three-points in Chattanooga’s final two games. She tied her career-high for shots behind the arc with three against Davidson, before connecting on five against the Mountaineers. 

The New Tazewell, Tenn., native recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds at Davidson, where she shot 40 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from long range.

The sophomore forward also shot 11-of-14 from the charity stripe, including a 7-of-8 showing against Appalachian State. 

Chattanooga earned the No.3 seed for the Southern Conference Tournament which begins Friday, March 2 in Asheville, N.C. The Lady Mocs have a first round bye and will play Saturday night against the winner of the Furman and UNCG contest. 

Other top performers this week were Appalachian State’s Anna Freeman, College of Charleston’s Latisha Harris, Elon’s Kelsey Evans, Georgia Southern’s Meredyth Frye and Wofford’s Morgan Wrightson.
