SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Wofford's Kevin Giltner has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played February 14-20 the league office announced Tuesday (Feb. 21).  Giltner averaged 23.5 points and six rebounds last week as Wofford topped Elon (72-59), before falling to Charleston Southern (77-59) in a BracketBuster matchup.

Giltner opened the week with a game-high 26 points against the Phoenix.  The Kingston Springs, Tenn., native shot 10-of-19 from the field and made six three-pointers.  He followed that up with 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds in 37 minutes at Charleston Southern.  Giltner shot 51 percent from the field for the week (16-of-31) and knocked down 11-of-22 from three-point range.

Giltner has now scored at least 20 points in seven games this season and ranks fifth in the SoCon in scoring with 15.4 points per game.  He is third in the league with 2.6 made three-pointers per game and ranks second in the SoCon in minutes played (37.9 mpg).

The Terriers (17-12, 10-6 SoCon) return to action Tuesday night at UNCG (12-16, 10-6 SoCon).

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Mike Neal, College of Charleston's Nori Johnson, The Citadel's Lawrence Miller, Davidson's Jake Cohen, Georgia Southern's Ben Drayton III, Chattanooga's Dontay Hampton, and Western Carolina's Keaton Cole.
