SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson's Sophia Aleksandravicius has been named the Southern Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 24-30, the league office announced today.

The junior nearly recorded Davidson's first triple-double in program history in the team's 78-57 win over Furman Monday night. Aleksandravicius recorded a game-high 20 points, 11 rebounds and blocked a career-high nine shots. Her nine blocks is not only a school-record, but also ties her for second in the SoCon for most blocked shots in a single game.

Aleksandravicius registered her ninth double-double of the season, and it was the fifth time this season she has had a 20-point outing.

The 6-foot-4 forward leads the conference in rebound (9.4 rpg) and is fourth in scoring (14.8 ppg).

The Pound Ridge, N.Y., native has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.

Aleksandravicius and the rest of the Wildcats will begin a two-game road swing at the College of Charleston and Georgia Southern before returning home to entertain UNCG.

Other top performers this week were Appalachian State's Anna Freeman, College of Charleston's Megan Fischer, Elon's Ali Ford, Samford's Paige Anderson, Chattanooga's Faith Dupree, Western Carolina's Kalia'Shea Menendez and Wofford's Rachel Brittenham.
