COLUMBIA, S.C. - The 27^th-ranked South Carolina women's tennis team blanked 74^th-ranked Furman, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon in the inaugural match at the Gamecocks' new outdoor facility in Columbia, S.C.

South Carolina opened the match by winning all three doubles matches, as Jaklin Alawi and Dijana Stojic combined for an 8-0 win over Paladin freshman Alex Moreno-Kaste and sophomore Katherine Oudin in the top contest.  Anya Morgina and Josefin Andersson posted an 8-2 victory over sophomore Margaret Boyette and junior Lauren Kline in the second doubles match, and Dominika Kanakova and Katerina Popova beat sophomore Amanda Murray and junior Michele Stanford, 8-6, at number three singles.

In singles action, 20^th-ranked Morgina defeated Kline, 6-3, 6-2, in the top spot.  Oudin notched a 6-4 win over #33 Alawi in the first set at number two, before Alawi rebounded to win the final sets, 6-1, 6-2.  #80 Stojic tallied a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Stanford in the third singles contest, and Popova defeated Boyette, 6-3, 6-0 at number four singles.  In the fifth singles match, Kanakova bested Moreno-Kaste, 6-2, 6-2, and Adriana Pereira beat freshman Kelly Sullivan, 6-3, 6-3, at number six singles.

Furman (1-2) returns home to face Clemson on February 1 at 3 p.m.
