SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State’s Stanley Broaden and Samford’s Michael Seaman have been named the Southern Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets over the weekend. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.

Broaden, a freshman from Wilmington, N.C., had a strong outing in his collegiate debut at the Dick Taylor Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina. He finished fourth and recorded a personal best 8.28 in the 60m hurdles, which ranks him first in the conference this season.

Seaman broke the Samford and Birmingham Crossplex record at the UAB Blazer Invite with a vault of 17’6.5”. His jump leads the league and is the sixth best in the country.
