Williamson Named Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State’s Sarah Williamson has been named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. 

Williamson won the 5,000 meter run at the Dick Taylor Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina over the weekend. Her time of 18:07.25 shattered her previous personal-best by 20 seconds. 

Williamson and the rest of the Mountaineers will return to action Thursday for the Appalachian Split Meet at the Holmes Center. 

The junior from Charlotte, N.C. maintains a 3.31 GPA in health care management.
