SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Dena O'Brien has been named the Southern Conference Women's Runner of the Week, for the week of September 28, the league office announced today.
The sophomore won the individual title at the Will Wilson/Citadel Invitational with a time of 18:13 in the 5K race. O'Brien led a majority of the race and paced the Cougars, who had six runners finish in the top 10 en route claiming the invitation title.
O'Brien and the rest of the College of Charleston squad will travel to Charlotte this weekend to compete in the Charlotte Invitational on Friday.
