SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Furman senior goalkeeper Alec Kann has been chosen as the Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week for all matches from September 19-26.
Kann helped Furman to a 1-0-1 record this past weekend as the Paladins extended their unbeaten streak to eight matches with a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian and 0-0 draw at 22nd-ranked East Tennessee State.
The Decatur, Ga., native stopped three shots in each match and earned his fifth shutout of the year in the scoreless draw on Sunday. Kann, who has a 0.57 goals against average this season, posted a 0.45 GAA in 200 minutes this week.
Kann's shutout was the 15th of his career, which moved him into a tie for 15th place in Southern Conference history.
