SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNCG's Ashley Schnell has been named the Southern Conference women's cross country runner of the week for her performance at the Elon Invitational Saturday, the league office announced today.
Schnell, the 2010 Southern Conference women's champion, won the Elon Invitational title with a time of 17:19. She not only broke the course record by 28 seconds, but also UNCG's school record of 17:37 that she set last year.
Schnell and the rest of the UNCG squad will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Paul Short Run Friday.
