SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston sophomore forward Andy Craven has been chosen as the Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week for all matches from September 12-18.
Craven led Charleston to a 3-2 win at Denver on Sunday afternoon by scoring twice and assisting on a third goal. The sophomore from St. Simon's Island, Ga., scored the opening goal of the match in the 25th minute then assisted on Sean de Silva's marker to give the Cougars a 2-0 advantage through 55 minutes of play.
After Denver rallied with a pair of goals, Craven scored from 15 yards out in the 74th minute to seal the win.
Other Nominees: Lee Williams (Appalachian State), Brian Mcgue (Davidson), Jacob Brown (Furman) and Luigi Clendening (Georgia Southern).
