SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Elon junior forward Chris Thomas has been chosen as the Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week for all matches from September 5-11.
Thomas, a junior from Snellville, Ga., and the reigning SoCon Player of the Year, came off the bench to score two goals and tally two assists in Elon's 5-0 victory against North Florida on Sunday. He had the assist on the game-winner and then tucked in an insurance goal minutes later.
Thomas' big day propelled Elon to its first victory of the 2011 season.
