Greenville, S.C. -- Furman goalkeeper Maros Valko has signed a one-year contract with Northern Ireland's Carrick Rangers of the IFA Premiership, it was announced on the club's website this week.
Valko, a native of Levoca, Slovakia, played in two matches and posted a 1.88 goals against average while helping Furman to a share of the Southern Conference regular season title this past season. The 6-foot-1 netminder compiled a 1.66 GAA over his four years at Furman.
Carrick Rangers earned promotion to the Carling Premiership for 2011-12 after finishing first in the IFA Championship 1 last season.
