ROSWELL, Ga. --- Chattanooga Mocs departing senior Emma de Groot (Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia) qualified for the United States Women's Amateur today at the Settindown Creek Course at Ainsley Golf Club. She'll join fellow UTC alum Christine Wolf (Igls, Austria) August 8-14 at Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington.

de Groot shot a 75 which placed her in a playoff for a qualifying spot. She promptly birdied the first playoff hole to advance. She and Wolf are the first Mocs to compete in the Women's Amateur.

Wolf is exempt for the event by virtue of her May qualification into the U.S. Women's Open. She also played in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links the week prior to the open where she tied for third in stroke play before losing in the round of 32 in match play.

Rising sophomore Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) also attempted to qualify for the U.S. Women's Am. She fell short with a 79. Her next action is at the Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open beginning Thursday, July 21, and ending on Saturday, July 23.
