Charleston, S.C. - Former Bulldog Richard Jones was named a Midwest League Mid-Season All Star while current Bulldog Joe Jackson has been named the starting catcher for the Coastal Plain League American All-Star Team.

Former Bulldogs in the Minor Leagues:
Dallas McPherson (Charlotte Knights - AAA - International League): After seeing his first action in the major league since 2008, McPherson hit .133 in 11 games with the Chicago White Sox with a run and two hits. With the Knights, the former Bulldog is hitting .257 in 58 games with 29 runs, 58 hits, 15 doubles, seven homers, 31 RBI, 18 walks and 94 total bases.

Chris Swauger (Springfield Cardinals - AA - Texas League): Swauger is excelling in Springfield again in 2011 as he is currently batting .294 in 68 games with 31 runs, 62 hits, eight doubles, eight homers, one triple, 14 walks, 33 RBI, two stolen bases and 96 total bases.

Bryan Altman (San Antonio Missions - AA - Texas League): After shooting up to AA San Antonio after extended spring training, Altman is hitting .156 in 24 games between San Antonio and Class-A Advanced Ft. Wayne. He has five runs, seven hits, a double, a stolen base and four RBI at second base.

Matt Crim (Lynchburg Hillcats - A-Advanced - Carolina League): Between splitting time at Mississippi (AA) and Lynchburg (A-Advanced), Crim is 1-8 with an ERA of 5.28 in 18 games and five starts. Crim has thrown 61.1 innings and has struck out 41 while walking just 14.

Chris McGuiness (Myrtle Beach Pelicans - A-Advanced - Carolina League): It has been a rough season for McGuiness who just went back on the disabled list for the second time this season. McGuiness was batting .218 in 46 games at first base in 2011 with 17 runs, 37 hits, nine doubles, a homer, 20 RBI, 28 walks and 49 total bases.

Asher Wojciechowski (Dunedin Blue Jays - A-Advanced - Florida State League): After a stellar first four starts to the season, Wojciecowski had a rough month of June but is off to a great start in July as he is 1-0 with an ERA of 1.50 in two starts with seven strikeouts in 12.0 innings of work this month. On the season, "Wojo" is 5-7 with an ERA of 5.25 in 85.2 innings pitched and 62 strikeouts in 16 starts.

Richard Jones (Peoria Chiefs - A - Midwest League): Jones was selected as a Midwest League Mid-Season All Star for the Chiefs and is batting .302 in 72 games with 86 hits, 37 runs, 21 doubles, 16 homers, 57 RBI and 155 total bases at first base.

Matt Talley (GCL Braves - Gulf Coast League - Rookie League): Talley has appeared in five games, all in relief and allowed just one earned run in 13.0 innings for an ERA of 0.69. The southpaw has struck out seven and walked four.

Current Bulldogs in Summer League (as available):
Logan Cribb (Carolina Stingers - Southern Collegiate Baseball League): Cribb is pitching in his hometown on Rock Hill this summer for the Carolina Stingers and is 2-2 with an ERA of 2.52 in 25.0 innings of work in four starts and six appearances. The left-hander has a complete game and 23 strikeouts. Cribb, along with Bulldog teammate Ryan Hines, have two of the five lowest ERA in the SCBL this summer.

Ryan Hines (Spartanburg Spartans - Southern Collegiate Baseball League): Hines has continued to excel after finishing his season at The Citadel strong with the Spartanburg Spartans this summer. The right-hander is 1-1 with an ERA of 2.30 in 31.1 innings of work. He has made five starts and appeared in 10 games and has 16 strikeouts with just two walks allowed. Hines, along with Bulldog teammate Logan Cribb, have two of the five lowest ERA in the SCBL this summer.

Joe Jackson (Columbia Blowfish - Coastal Plain League): Jackson has been named the starting catcher for the American Coastal Plain League All-Star Team. In 21 starts and 27 total appearances, Jackson is batting .198 with 17 hits, eight runs, two doubles, eight RBI and 18 total bases.

Austin Pritcher (Columbia Blowfish - Coastal Plain League): Pritcher is 2-3 with an ERA of 4.24 in seven starts for the Blowfish this summer. The right-hander has 25 strikeouts in 34.0 innings of work with just 13 walks.

Hughston Armstrong and Ryan Kilgallen are playing for the North Charleston Dixie Majors this summer as well.
