A total of 22 Southern Conference baseball players were selected in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.

After 16 players were taken in rounds 1-30, an additional six SoCon student-athletes were taken on Wednesday when the draft concluded with rounds 31-50.

Georgia Southern pitcher Matt Murray, the SoCon coaches' selection as the Pitcher of the Year in 2011, was the first SoCon player drafted. Murray went in the 10^th round, 306 overall, to the Kansas City Royals.

Also taken in the 10^th round was College of Charleston catcher Rob Kral, who happened to be the only position player from the league chosen in the first 30 rounds. Kral was chosen by the San Diego Padres.

Eighteen of the 22 players picked were pitchers.

SoCon regular season champion Elon had four players selected in the draft, as did College of Charleston and Samford. SoCon Tournament champion Georgia Southern saw three of its players chosen over the three days as well.
