SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Furman men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak Tuesday afternoon with a 4-3 win at Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C.  The Paladins notched four singles victories for the team win.

The Terriers jumped out to an early lead after winning two out of three doubles matches to take the doubles point.  Stuart Robertson and Tinus Van Wyk combined for an 8-4 win over Paladin senior Sawyer Duncan and sophomore Andrew Mellow in the top doubles contest, and Paul Bartholomy and Alan Donald teamed up for an 8-6 win over sophomores Alex Christ and Joel Cook in the second doubles match.  The Paladins came up with a win in the third doubles spot, with freshman Marco Aru and senior Andrei Chvetsov defeating Michael Schecter and Jack Seiffert, 8-7 (7-5).

In singles action, Robertson defeated Chvetsov, 6-2, 6-3 in the number three match to give Wofford a 2-0 lead before Furman came alive, winning the next four singles matches for the team win.  Duncan defeated Van Wyk, 6-4, 6-1 in the top singles match, while Mellow recorded a 6-1, 7-6(7-5) victory over Schecter in the second singles match.  Christ beat Donald, 7-6(7-5), 6-1 at number four singles, then Cook beat Bartholomy, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, in the sixth singles match to seal the victory.  In the final singles match, Drew Superstein beat sophomore Robbie Aru, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at number five singles.
