SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Citadel freshman Danielle McKee has been named Southern Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week while Appalachian State senior Rebecca Hazeltine was named the SoCon Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for their performances for all meets, April 8-10. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.
McKee, a freshman from Fayetteville, N.C., won the 800m at the Chanticleer Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina University. Her time of 2:18.22 was a two second personal best and was the third best performance in school history.
Hazeltine, a Weddington, N.C., native, won the high jump event at the High Point Invitational VertKlasse meet with a jump of 5'10." Her jump leads the SoCon and broke the Appalachian State school record. Hazeltine is currently ranked 11th in the NCAA East Region and 21st in the NCAA.
Both teams will head to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend to compete in the SoCon Outdoor Track and Field Championship, April 22-23.

Western Carolina senior Kassie McKie - Won the pole vault at the WCU Invitational by clearing the height of 12'6.25." The mark currently ranks second in the conference.
