SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Emma de Groot, a senior golfer at Chattanooga, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for April 20, the league office announced today.
The New South Wales, Australia, native holds a 3.363 GPA in health and human performance.
Emma de Groot shot a three-over par 219 (74-71-74) at the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship to claim her first conference individual title. In de Groot's sixth career win, the Lady Mocs claim its second straight SoCon championship. Over the weekend, de Groot earned her fourth all-conference honor and was selected as the Player of the Year by the coaches. She is currently ranked No. 65 in the nation.
The Lady Mocs will wait to hear where they will play in the NCAA Regional May 5-7.
