SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston's Mickael Trintignac has been named the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played April 4-10.  Trintignac went 6-0 in singles and doubles competition last week as the Cougars came away with three SoCon victories over The Citadel (6-1), UNCG (7-0) and Davidson (7-0).  The Player of the Week selections are made by the conference office.

Competing at No. 2 singles for the Cougars, Trintignac began the week with a 6-1, 6-1 win over The Citadel's Derek Dickey.  He knocked off UNCG's Timion Meijs, 7-6, 6-2, and defeated Davidson's Chris Mark, 6-3, 6-1, to give him his third straight-sets win during the week.  The junior from Le Cannet, France, has now won 12 of his last 13 singles matches and owns an 8-1 mark in conference play.

Trintignac teamed with Billy Kenny at the No. 3 doubles position last week as CofC's tandem went 3-0.  Trintignac and Kenny defeated The Citadel's Josh Cook and Jeremiah Dye, 8-4.  In CofC's sweep of UNCG, the Cougars' pair knocked off UNCG's Ahmet Sarioglu and Chanon Varapongsittikul, 8-5, and closed the week with an 8-6 victory over Davidson's Mark and Connor Evins.  They are 4-1 at No. 3 doubles for the Cougars.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Philip Kloc, Elon's Cameron Silverman, Furman's Andrew Mellow, Georgia Southern's Juan Melian Puigventos and UNCG's Orcun Seyrek.
