SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga's Michelle Fuzzard has been selected as the Southern Conference Softball Player of the Week, while Appalachian State's Hannah Dow has been honored as the Pitcher of the Week for all games April 4-10. The selections are made by the league office.

Fuzzard, a junior from Huntington Beach, Calif., recorded a hit in all five of Chattanooga's games on the week as the Lady Mocs posted a 4-1 record, including a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play.  Fuzzard compiled a .571 average on the week with two home runs, four doubles, five RBI and six runs scored.  The Chattanooga first baseman registered a slugging percentage of 1.286 and an on-base percentage of .647 as Fuzzard earned her second Player of the Week honor this season.

Dow, a Matton, Ill., native, posted a perfect 0.00 ERA on the week in two appearances against Western Carolina while picking up two victories.  In both of Dow's complete-game shutouts, the senior allowed a combined nine hits while striking out eight batters as the Catamounts managed just a .225 average off the Mountaineer righty.  Dow improved her record on the season to 7-4.

Also receiving nominations for player of the week were Appalachian State's Katie Boyd, College of Charleston's Kristi Woodall, Elon's Jackie Gonzalez, Georgia Southern's Mackenzie Williams, UNCG's April Langley, Samford's Nicole Bobrowski and Western Carolina's Jordan Fulton.

Also nominated for pitcher of the week were Elon's Lauren Taylor, Samford's Kayla Burris and Chattanooga's Nikki Waters.
