SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UNCG freshman Paul Katam has been named Southern Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week while Samford junior Michael Seaman was named the SoCon Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for their performances for all meets, March 11-13. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.
Katam, a freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, placed fourth in the 1500m run at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Invitational last weekend. It was Katam's first attempt at that distance, and his time of 3:56.81 places him second on the all-time UNCG list.
Seaman, a junior at Samford, was the winner in the pole vault with a mark of 16'10.75" at the 'Southern Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. The mark set a meet record and it the conference leading height in the event. It also was the number four jump in the country.

The Citadel sophomore Danny Till - Won the 200m in a time of 22.25 and finished third in the 100m with a time of 10.94 at the Palmetto Classic in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Samford junior Cavan Corcaron - Finished second at the 'Southern Invitational in the 400m hurdles. His time of 56.21 was a personal best in the event.
Wofford senior Andy Vess - Won the javelin with a meet record throw of 53.95m at the Palmetto Classic in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
