Record-Setting Wolf Lauded as Women?s Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga senior Christine Wolf has been named the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 9-15.

Wolf had a record-setting week, claiming individual medalist honors at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational and leading Chattanooga to a resounding 33-stroke victory.

In the event, she set program records for the lowest 18-, 36- and 54-hole scores, including a six-under par 66 in round two. Wolf bested teammate and last week's SoCon Golfer of the Week, Emma de Groot, by four strokes. She birdied 14 of the 54 holes in the tournament.

As a team, it was also a milestone week for the Mocs, who set new team marks for lowest score after each round. Chattanooga's three-round total of 859 (-5) was the program's first-ever under par, and it placed them 33 shots ahead of the nearest team in a field that included five regional participants from 2010.

Wolf becomes the third different Chattanooga golfer in as many weeks to earn the weekly award.

Other top performers this week were Samford's Alex Jasper and Western Carolina's Josefine Sundh.
