SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston guard Andrew Goudelock has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played February 1-7 the league office announced Tuesday (Feb. 8). Goudelock averaged 27.0 points and shot 44 percent from beyond the arc as the Cougars knocked off Wofford (79-54) and Furman (73-54) last week.
The senior began the week with a game-high 25 points against Wofford. He was 8-of-19 from the field against the Terriers and added a game-high six assists as the Cougars moved to the top of the South Division standings. Two days later against Furman, Goudelock scored a game-high 29 points in 36 minutes of action against the Paladins.
A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Goudelock is currently on a 10-game double-digit scoring streak and continues to lead the Southern Conference and rank among the top five nationally in points per game (4th, 23.8 ppg) and made three-pointers (4th, 3.3 3fg).
College of Charleston (17-7, 10-2 SoCon) returns to the action Wednesday when the Cougars visit Elon.
Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Omar Carter, The Citadel's Mike Groselle, Davidson's JP Kuhlman, Elon's Lucas Troutman, UNCG's Brandon Evans, Chattanooga's Omar Wattad, Western Carolina's Mike Williams and Wofford's Noah Dahlman.
