SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga's Michelle Fuzzard has been selected as the Southern Conference Softball Player of the Week, while Elon's Erin O'Shea has been honored as the Pitcher of the Week for all games February 21-27. The selections are made by the league office.

Fuzzard, a senior from Huntington Beach, Calif., hit two three-run home runs over the weekend at the Frost Classic hosted by Chattanooga.  In the five games over the weekend, Fuzzard registered nine hits, two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI.  She registered a slugging percentage of 1.214 for the weekend and recorded a .667 on-base percentage.  The Lady Moc designated player started the weekend 8-for-8 before being retired for the first time all weekend in Chattanooga's fourth game.  Her 5 RBI performance against East Tennessee State was a career-high.

O'Shea, a junior at Elon, pitched a complete game at South Carolina, giving the Phoenix an 8-1 victory over the Gamecocks.  The Kennesaw, Ga., native compiled a 1.00 ERA in seven innings pitched, giving up one run, striking out one and walking only one.  O'Shea improved her record to 3-0 on the season.

Also receiving nominations for player of the week were Appalachian State's Meghan Smith, Elon's Tomeka Watson, Furman's Hannah Pace, Georgia Southern's Marie Fogle, UNCG's Alex Emeterio and Samford's Lakan Smith.

Also nominated for pitcher of the week were Appalachian State's Hannah Dow, Furman's Kayla Suskauer, Georgia Southern's Allie Miles, Samford's Kayla Burris and Chattanooga's Kandice Irwin.
