SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Mike Groselle, a sophomore men's basketball player at The Citadel, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for February 23, the league office announced today.
The Plano, Texas, native holds a 3.658 GPA in civil engineering.
Groselle registered two double-doubles against College of Charleston and Georgia Southern. The Bulldog center scored 10 points while pulling down 10 rebounds against the Cougars. Four of his ten rebounds came on the offensive glass, the most offensive rebounds in a single game for Groselle this season. He finished of the week against Georgia Southern with 17 points and 10 rebounds, three of which were offensive.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season this week at Western Carolina on Thursday and at Appalachian State on Saturday.
Other nominees included Elon softball player Erin O'Shea, Georgia Southern baseball player Eric Phillips, UNCG men's golfer Robert Hoadley and Chattanooga softball player Tiffany Baker.
