SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Wofford senior Brad Loesing has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played December 6-12 the league office announced Tuesday (Dec. 13). Loesing averaged 19.0 points and shot 57 percent from the field as Wofford knocked off previously unbeaten Tulane (61-50) and Virginia-Wise (69-66).
The Cincinnati native played all 40 minutes against Tulane and poured in a career-best 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor. Loesing connected on 4-of-7 three-point attempts and added five assists and two steals against the Green Wave.
Hampered by foul trouble against UVA-Wise, Loesing scored 14 points and added five rebounds, four assists and a steal in 29 minutes of action.
Loesing connected on 7-of-13 attempts from three-point range on the week and knocked down 7-of-8 free throw attempts. He ranks third in the SoCon in assists per game (5.4) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9).
The Terriers (6-4) host Jacksonville Sunday afternoon.
Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Rodney Milum, Elon's Austin Hamilton, Chattanooga's Omar Wattad, Samford's Tyler Hood and Western Carolina's Harouna Mutombo.
