AUSTIN, TEXAS - After two rounds of competition the College of Charleston women's golf team finished the day in ninth-place at the Challenge at Onion Creek tournament hosted by Texas State.
The Cougars battled back from an opening 30-over first round to shoot 14-over for the fifth-best second round on the par-70 course. CofC is two shots back of seventh-place and seven shots back of sixth-place in the 13 team field.
Junior Anna Martin 77-72 (+9) and senior Leigh Whittaker 74-75 (+9) led the Cougars on the day and are tied for 18th individually.
Texas Tech leads the field with rounds of 288-291 for a combined 19-over 579 and has a three stroke lead over the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
The final round will start at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow and live scoring will be available on golfstat.com
