SPARTANBURG, S.C. – College of Charleston’s Elyse Chubb, Georgia Southern’s Moriah Bellissimo and Samford’s Michaela Reesor have been named the Southern Conference Offensive, Defensive and Freshman of the Week, respectively.
Chubb led the Cougars with 12 kills in the team’s sweep of The Citadel Tuesday where she also recorded a new career-high hitting percentage of .800. The middle blocker also tied for the team lead with 11 kills at UNCG. She only made one attack error all week, hitting .710.
The Peachtree, Ga., native is one of just two College of Charleston players to reach 1,100 kills, 400 blocks and hit over .300 for her career.
Bellissimo tallied 76 digs last week for Georgia Southern, as the Eagles finished the season with wins over Davidson and Wofford, before falling to Furman in four sets.
The junior from Blackstone, Va., has recorded 432 digs this season for the Eagles.
Reesor picks up the Freshman of the Week honor for the second time this season. The outside hitter led the Bulldogs in kills (33) and hitting percentage (.483) over the weekend.
The Caledon, Ontario native tallied a career-best 18 kills Sunday against Appalachian State, along with 16 digs to record her third double-double of the season.

Nominated for Freshmen of the Week was Amanda Rudnik (The Citadel), Sloane White (College of Charleston), Chanelle Smith (Elon), Kym Coley (Georgia Southern), Emily McMurtrey (UNCG), Melissa Green (Chattanooga) and Caitlin Piechota (Western Carolina).
