Elon (9-10-2) will learn its postseason destination when the NCAA Tournament field is revealed Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. on NCAA.com. The SoCon title is Elon's first, as is the NCAA Tournament berth.

Elon's Jordan Smith put the Phoenix ahead at the 42:30 mark of the first half with a stellar individual effort. The junior dribbled past a pair of defenders then sent a low shot past the charging Peyton Ford to open the scoring. The tally was Smith's second of the season and first in two months.

Gabe Latigue stretched the margin to 2-0 in the 48th minute when he converted a penalty kick for his fourth score of the year. Daniel Lovitz earned the PK when he was taken down on the left side of the box after bypassing a pair of Spartan defenders.

Smith widened the gap with his second marker of the day on another one-v-one effort. The junior dribbled down the left side, maneuvering his way around Ford and sliding the ball back across the face of the net.

The Spartans (10-8-2) showed no quit in them, however, as Brian Graham scored two goals in 60 seconds to quickly cut the deficit to 3-2. The sophomore forward rocketed a shot past Nathan Dean from the edge of the box at the 81:30 mark. Will Mack earned the assist. Just a minute later, Graham headed in a cross by Cameron Owens from 10 yards out for his third goal on the season.

The Spartans continued to press forward in the final minutes, but Dean and the Phoenix back line were up to the challenge, preserving the win.

Seeded sixth, Elon is the second-lowest seeded team to win the league's tournament since its inception in 1988 as UNCG won as the No. 7 seed in 2008.
